Default please help me solve a mystery

I'm sure the experts get flooded with these all day. A friend of mine is watching a car for a friend of his who is currently deployed to Iraq. Its a 92 hatch (i know...wrong forum but bear with me) the the 1.5l and a five speed. I guess it died on him just the other night but it started back up but felt kinda weak. Today it wouldnt start at all, it cranks but wont start. Its getting no spark, plugs look good when he pulled them they were dry. He replace the distributor cap and rotor so far, I told him it may be the ignitor chip, thats the only thing I could think of. Also it cranks fine but if you hold it it seems to want to die out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the set screw on the distributor rotor too, they can come out easily and lose indexing. Pop the cap and see if you can turn move the rotor by hand.

ignition control module = ICM, it's pretty easy to find in the engine compartment when you have the part in your hand.
