Default what's the differnce=h22?

I have noticed that the h22a is supposed to have 200hp, and the jdm h22a-s has 225hp. What is the differnce in these engines that would cause one to have 25 more horses than the other one, and what can i do to my h22a to make it 225hp like the (s) model?

compression. search for type-s piston and you'll probably find a bunch of threads about it..

It has different pistons (Type-s 11.1CR) and more agressive cams, it also comes with different springs to handle the additional clearance and a factory P & P i think.
Rebuild with Type-S pistons and P + P with new springs valves and retainers and tune and you should be close.

The Intakes also flow much better, a common swap and are very competitive with most aftremarket IM.(Those number are at the flywheel of coarse)

And to complete the list, it had a slightly larger TB, slightly bored out header, and a slightly larger exhaust.

Most of the power would come from the compression and cams though.
