? about wheel offsets
Ok, this will sound dumb... but I have no idea what the offset on wheels is all about. I guess all I care about mostly, is knowing what offset I need for my s2k. I'm thinking about getting some wheels, they will still be 17X7's but again, I have no idea what offset I need. Help!
remember, you need staggered rims for s2000
The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset.
If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. For most cars, this won't work correctly.
offset vary how wide you wanna go

stock offsets are +55 front.. and +65 rear..
now you have to account... are you going with a bbk up front later down the road? ... how wide are your wheels going to be.... what size tires are you trying to run.??? ..

i think stock wheels are 17X7 right? i want them the same size as stock because i'm planning on using the same tires i have on now.

RG II's is what i want, but the gold ones. Do they make them on the size i need? Also thinkin about the Work Emotion CR's, so i guess which ever of those makes the siza i need, will be the ones i go with.
advan rgII
17x7.5 +45
17x8.5 +50
18x7.5 +45
18x8.5 +50
dunno about the bbk clearance on these wheels... but they are better then the work emotion cr's with bbk clearance.

staggered setup is what you wan't to go with, but some people do run the same way all around. i know the Amuse togue car is running 17x10 all the way around i believe...
the RG's 2 is a good choice, they do make them in s2000 offsets and sizes whether or not you wan't 17 or 18's...
check out evasivemotorsports.com for the rg's

You do not need to use staggered wheels on a S2K! With that said, a better explanation would be that one can use a different size wheel width/offset and tire size combo to change the handling characteristics of the S2K.
