Looking to purchase a integra around March but..
I plan to purchase a 94-97 depending on how much money I have. This will be my first car and I plan to have it for a long time. How much mileage is too much? Are their things to look for when buying a used teg? Also, what are the difference in the years 94-97? I want to get a gsr but that is only if my money permits it..
Thanks.
Thanks.
I really wouldn't be to worried about the mileage, but more so if it was regularly maintained or not. Just take the car your interested to a mechanic you know or trust and have them do a thorough inspection.

I agree w/ Ali....
My first car was a 96 Integra SE w/ 105,000
Engine ran fine....
The only thing that gave me a problem was the brakes. So just make sure u get it checked out.

Like they said bring someone you trust; the miles really wont matter if the owner treated the car right. Have your guy check for body rust (bad body work that may come back to haunt you later), check the engine for proper compression, leaks/smoke etc...just make sure you look all over the car and do it during the day. As far as years I would get a 94 or something like that (cheaper) and just convert the front to 98+. Good luck.
i'd say one important thing to consider is when the last timing belt change was... if it's due, it could be an unexpected cost... as long as the engine runs smooth and everything sounds fine, doesn't smoke, etc... you'll be in good hands... ask some advice from a trusted tech... good luck!!!
If at all possible aim for one that's only had 1 previous owner and preferrably an older person. A virgin integra is always the best way to go, one that hasn't been modified. Make sure it doesn't leak any fluids, ask if you can take it somewhere to have a leakdown test performed, also ask for any and all maintenance records, make sure the timing belt/water pump were replaced on schedule.

ya get in make sure theres no wierd probs like no trunsignals ect.. then go out and run it through the gears hard thats when a car will show off its nice sounds and noises its gunna make and whatch for blue smoke.
I have to be honest, I just above average info as far as cars go...so basically when I go to inspect I should bring a mechanic, check for body rust, and maintanance records...and it not a good idea to go with it if the timing belt hasnt be replaced correct..
Just noticed every '94 teg I see under $3000 has problem with it so I will aim to save $3500 ish (I search autotrader)

Short answer=yes. Any specific reason why you're shooting for a 94 other than it might be the cheapest? Trust me, shop around a little bit and I'm sure youll find a newer Teg for around the price that you can afford.

Yup, just because its the cheapest...or so I figured...im actually surprised...ive been seeing tegs for a little cheaper than I thought I could get them for. I guess its a big deal to find one that has a new timing belt and water pump because ppl mention that in the description.

Because HT members are telling everyone to check for those first.
How much are you looking to spend? I got my 97 LS for $5500 and dropped a B18C into it shortly thereafter. Trust me you look around enough you WILL find a deal.

A question like that (not to take over your thread here) but how much would you guys say a 00 "Special Edition" LS teg with 110k Km on it be worth, body is in great shape, no rust and very clean...
