depending on your setup...but if it's for a daily driver, i'd do the ported skunk2 mani...weekend driver/drag, go with itb's.

yea thats the only thing im really worried about, I usually dont get pulled over, and they wouldnt have a reason to pop my hood because all my exhaust is smog legal, and its not very loud, if they do pop my hood, i have a stock intake manifold at home and can get it checked off at the state ref

If you go with ITB's...I would stick with something that works and fits your vehicle properly with less haggle of making this...making that..to save a buck. I love my TWM's and would recommend them.

i have not had personal experience...but from friends, they've said idle is a bit high, smell of fuel in the car, little things here and there...oh and also, rocks and other debris could get into the TB's...and that's not a good thing...especially if you're gonna be running DIY ITB's...but this is just my opinion...others will have different opinions...but you can make great power with a single TB manifold.

anyone want to estimate a ball-park figure of how much more power i could make by going with the ITB's over the Skunk2 or vice versa

and which would just be an overall better use for my vehice

It all depends on what your motors needs, the gains of putting ITBs on a motor that cant fully utilize them isnt going to be worth it, as far as daily driven ITBs ive heard the same things zer0-psi has heard as well as gas mileage taking a BIG hit

ITB's Require a ton of Fuel, So MPG will go down, idle is poor, and there is always the danger of debris being ingested. I will post a graph tomorrow of a B20/VTEC with before and After ITB's and before and after ITB Tuning.

Here are the dynos that might help.

This one is b20/vtec before and after ITB's both were tuned

Here are ITB Just bolted on w/ no tuning vs. tuned.

ITB's vs. AEBS Manifold 11.5:1 CR both were tuned (2 different cars)

I am vey interested of this dyno numbers, before/after ITBs

I am thinking to use 929/954 40mm ITBs on my B16 too. And hope have good gains in throttle response and mid/up rpms over mu stock B16 Intake.

Besides Skunk2 Intake, there are other good intake to use instead of ITbs an skunk2? What you guys think about AEBS thyphoon?
I know it depends of the target and setup, so it's for a dailly driver car, but I am allways with vtec on(5.5k and up) and reving at 9k.

Look at my signature setup:

Thanks!

The last graph above are shows the difference between the ITB's and an AEBS Manifold (Dark Red and blue). Keep in mind these are two different cars and motors, Here are the exact set ups.

Set Up 1
B20/VTEC
B20Z Stock Block
B16A Head Stock Cams
TWM ITB w/DSM 450cc
PURE Custom Vacumm Box for MAP Sensor
Hondata S200
DC 4-1 US SPEC
RS-R Race Exhaust
AEM Short Ram Intake

Set Up 2
B20/VTEC
B20Z w/ 11.5:1 CR Wiseco w/ Eagle Rods
B16A Head Stock Cams
AEBS Intake Manifold
Stock B16A TB
DC 4-2-1 US Spec
Apex-i N1
AEM Short Ram Intake

Draw your own conclusions, imo both cars could benefit from a bit more dyno time.

MPG with not go down if they are tuned right. My brother's setup idles right at 850rpm, and he's getting great gas mileage. Just use crome to tune them with. also you could probably pm rice4life on here. He helped me build my brother's setup.
