I am trying to sell the toda spec B cams that were in my R. I want to buy a SMSP header, but I can't do that without selling the cams... so the question is....

Someone has offered to trade the cams plus about $300 for a out of the box new Toda header. Should I do the trade and then try and sell the Toda header to get the money for the SMSP header, or hold out and see if I can get rid of the cams?

And please don't try telling me to keep the header because I want the SMSP.

 

i'd much rather have toda Bs than a toda header. toda has nice stuff, but cams make a huge difference, and i don't think a toda header would make much power over, say, a DC JDM 4-1. try to just save up and get the smsp and keep the cams

or maybe sell the cams, get some rocket M22 cams and the smsp header

 

I think that Toda header will sell easier than Toda Bs...

I agree, especially a brand new one. However, since you're also including $300 along with your cams (if I'm understanding correctly), the amount you recoup from selling the header will probably be quite close to what you could sell the cams for if you discounted them slightly to expedite the sale.

 

Keep the cams and wait till you can afford an RMF

He doesn't want an RMF, he wants an SMSP.

He also doesn't need to keep the Spec B's because he has a set of Spec C's.

 

how much would you want for the toda header? you might have a buyer right here hahaha

 

Well, the Toda header retails for $980. If you did the trade expect to get $800-900 for it when you sell it. Maybe more. Or sell your cams for $600-700 right now.

Any bids on your cams yet? How much are you trying to get for them?

 

no bids on the cams yet. Thats the problem people have sent PM's but no one has wanted them really yet.

I was asking 750 for them, but have lowered it to 680. And they are like 980 new or somethign like that. And being that mine are in great shape I honestly don't want to go much lower and lose out ya know?

Hense I am kinda in a issue right now, plus the toda header I was going to trade for sold, but he can always get more and trade me soon enough. It sucks, Toda B's are great cams I thought they would sell alot easier, which is why I bought the Spec C"s over the SMSP header while I had the money. I was figuring I wouldn't see much past 200 wheel with the B's.

 

you have to understand...

the reason why your Toda Bs have not sold is because they are not a standalone modification, you just can't buy the cams and drop them in your motor...

buying the cams involves slew of other parts to make them work, so its not just a $680 investment for someone...so b4 someone can even buy your toda bs, they would have to have another 2-3 thousand to spend besides your 680

Good call, I knew that, but honestly never thought about it. I just thought that people (at least enough) would already be modified enough to make use of these cams. I will look into the header Iguess.

 

I'd trade the Spec B's plus $200 ($300 would be too much for me) for a new Toda header. Then use the Toda header until you have funds for the SMSP.

 

You really need a Toda or SMSP header to make those cams breathe propperly anyway. I drove around on a JDM DC for a couple weeks with skunk2 stage 2 cams, and it was a HUGE gain when my SMSP header arrived and I installed it.

I would say you have to have both...either SMSP or Toda header and the cams...to make the most out of the setup. So just wait until you can afford both.

If you have the C's and can trade the B's plus $200 for the Toda header I would do it...otherwise sell the B's outright and wait for the SMSP. It is worth the wait!

yes, that appears to be the only downside to buying an SMSP header.

I also agree that selling cams is alot harder than selling a header.
