Default Question about tranny mounts..

I got my car aligned about 2 days ago and one of the mechanics i get to do stuff all the time (that i trust) called me. He said one of my tranny mounts was missing, like it was never installed with the swap. Ive been driving my hatch for a couple months now and I was just told something about this. My motor doesnt move in the engine bay, its like a rock. I did have some exhaust problems a couple weeks ago tho. My whole exhaust system got bent, from my header to my catback. It looks like someone hit a curb or something and bent the whole thing; but im not sure. Do i need to be concerned about this tranny mount? Could this be associated to my exhaust problem at all. How can i just not have a tranny mount, woudlnt the tranny fall out? Im kind of confused and scared to drive around my car. Thanks.

Mike

well what i can tell from your sig you drive a Civic. If your mechanic says your missing a tyranny mount then what hes talking about is your lower one, if it was the upper then the motor would move quite a bit. No this has nothing to do with your exhaust problem, it just was removed by somebody and not put back in. If if did just fall out then it would have taken 5 bots to do so which im sure did not happen unless the person who reinstalled that mount before you had the car is a complete idiot. The car is perfectly safe to drive since you still have 4 mounts holding it in. I would look at replacing it tho, but nothing that has to be done right away.

word. my whole entire exhaust system from my header to my resonator was BENT. There is a huge dent in the resonator, and it looks like the dude at sears was driving my car and hit something like a curb, bending the whole system. I have a small exhaust leak from the cat not connecting to the header correctly, but I didnt know if this was associated to my mount problem. I believe the mount was never there, ever since i got the car. Ill have to buy one. I can probably pick one up for like 40 bucks or something can't i? I also have a bad axel that needs replacing. Fun fun FUN!
