Timing belt tensioner and spring
Doing the timing belt, and while loosing/adjusting the tensioner, the tensioner spring came loose and out.
Does it matter if the spring is installed up side down?
There are two openings on the back side, flat metal piece of the tensioner: one for the spring and while the other(is it supposed to be bolted in or just leave it alone?).
Thanks

The other hole on the tensioner is to mount the tensioner body on a stud sticking out of the block. I don't think the spring matters which way it goes as long as it hooks up nice and firmly.

Dr. you are not referring to the stud where the 14mm bolt goes, are you?
I am talking about the flat metal piece on the back of the tensioner.
Don't remember any bolt to loosen the tensioner except the 14mm bolt.
Thanks

I don't remember loosen that bolt. It isn't part of the lower timing belt cover?
is it just slip in or has a bolt to retain it?

Nope, just put the tensioner on it and call it a day, all it is a cylindrical piece of metal to allow the tensioner to pivot with the spring and the bolt.
