Lightening a 91 CRX SI? 1900lbs.?
I know there are some differences between all the years and models of the CRX's. I know the HF is the lightest one. And that the 91 SI is a hefty 2180(?). I am looking to find out what steps I can take to lighten my SI since I am sticking with all motor. I was going to gut the interior and all that crap, but is there anything else? Im gonna keep stock trim (No body Kit). I searched and didn't really find too much.
Are you going to go all out road racing or is this also going to be a daily driver?
If daily driver, just pull all the interior pieces out and sound deadening (sp?) that you dont want. Maybe a CF hood and other lighter parts so to say(wheels, etc)
If you going all out get one of these and have fun and cage it

lol, already got an old school sawzall and a CF hood. I was gonna get the CF sunroof insert too. I guess Ill just have to go buck wild with the sawzall.
Mine is roughly 2050 with:
-9.5lb wheels
-Full stock interior and seats
-Factory A/C in place
-No stereo, speakers, or antenna (official honda block-off plates, per rules)
-Removed axle-back, replaced with turn-down pipe
-Factory cat and resonator in place.
-11lb battery
-momo steering wheel (minus 4lbs)
-header (minus 10lbs)
-no washer fluid
-1/3 tank of gas
I could see you dipping below 2000 pretty easily with those CF parts and removed interior. If you're allowed you could add HF bumper supports to save some more pounds. On the extreme end, you might be able to remove the extra door beams as well (those are unique to the 90-91s), or maybe do a 89 door/seatbelt conversion.

That's the maximum acceptable weight including passengers for the car.
