Default 06 SI vrs 99 SI vrs STI

I picked up my new SI about a week ago.

I gave me some flashbacks of when i had my 99 SI.

Weeks parts on the new SI:
Steering a bit touchy...brakes also alittle touchy...Needs a flash for sure..When the Vtec kicks it kicks hard...but not till 6000 rpm or so...giving you a 2000 rpm to work with
The blind spot on the new SI is also alittle big.

Looks great...good sound system...great clutch/shifter...good handling.

I got the all season pilots

Its does a funny rev match thing...as you let off the gas to shift gears it holds the rpm for a bit...allowing you to shift smoother..and i suppose extending the life of the clutch.

Alot better then the 99 IMHO...without that big of a price difference...IIRC i paid about 19k for my 99 si new.

23k for this one with the Factory body kit/XM upgrade/fog lights.

I drag race alota..this feels like a high 14 second car maybe 94-96 mph if you can shift the car fast enough.

As compared the STI...better ride..better seats..better sound system...and MPG...so far about 29 mpg with mostly easy driving on my part.

Other then that the STis the champ...as far performance goes.

You traded your STi for an '06 Si?

Crazy idea, but I've considered doing this myself only to save $$.

The STi is just too damn fast for regular roads.

Go easy on the car. Also, better tires will help with the steering most likely. Id reccomend better rims, but the Si comes with pretty cool ones for stock.

Isn't that the truth. You could get in trouble with the STi in a hurry. I swear I get up to 80 mph on interstate on ramps before I know it. I must be crazy for even considering this, but gas mileage is also an issue. I get 17 mph with my STi (mostly city driving). What realistic gas mileage are you new Si owners getting?

Indeed.

My gas mileage is somewhere between 17-19 mpg in the city and 21-23 mpg on the highway.

I love my STI!
