Default Bad miss fire, car ran fine and then another miss fire.

On the way home as I was driving up the on ramp, just about to hit 60MPH in 2nd my car miss fired really bad, kind of like if I would of hit the rev. limiter. Shifted and drove on fine. Car drove for some 15 minutes OK at normal cruising speed. As I was driving down my street just before my house I tried to give the car some gas in 3rd going about 35 and car miss fired a tad. I let up and the car was fine again.
Other then really bad miss fire and short one the car seems to be running fine.
The car did not stall or rough idle before or afterwards.

What could be the problem?
Bad gas, ignition coil and or modulator going bad once again?

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Spark plug wires, cap and rotor, igniter or fouled plugs

Check the rotor in the dizzy. These things are knowen to come loose and cause all kinds of trouble.

Thanks for the input guys.
I hope to get apart tomorrow and do some inspecting.
I had to work all day today, and didn't get a chance to check it out.

I haven’t had any problems today, but I also didn't drive much today.

Thanks

Well ever since the two miss fires things of been working since then until tonight.
My dad changed my fuel filter (as there was rust and dirt in it when he took it off and rolled it around) and inspected the disturber and didn't find anything amiss. Only thing was turquoise crystal like deposits on the black plastic portion of the distributor where the plug wires hook in.

The car has been driving fine up into I was pulling out of parking spot and car sputtered. Pull back into spot and slightly revved the engine with no further problems. Is this a fluke or something that may still be a problem?

Thanks

have you checked the spark plugs? check gap and condition. measure the resistance in your spark plug wires. clean that blueish colored stuff on your contacts, that is corrosion. replace the parts if you can. the fuel injectors may be dirty. take out the injectors and check the spray pattern. is your air filter and intake tract clean and unobstructed?
