Default 00 Civic EX rear disc conversion

Alright, I searched here and on a few other forums and I still have a few questions about parts for doing a rear disc swap to my 00 civic ex.

My MC says "7/8" on the side. Will I need to swap MC's? The reason I'm asking is because I've heard different things.

Also, will I need to switch to a 4040 prop valve? Some people have told me yes, while others say I dont have to.

I'd just like to clear these things up before I purchase anything

Thank you.

What kind of 00 EX, and do you have ABS?

The 99-00 2DR EX MT non-ABS has the same Brake Booster and Brake Master Cylinder as the 99-00 SI (46400-S04-N11 and 46100-S04-A14, respectively). The 99-00 2DR EX AT (and possibly others) use a 13/16" BMC...

My 00 EX does not have ABS.

Also, the donor car is supposedly a 98 civic?

i did the swap using em1 rear arms...

my ex had abs but it is disabled now.. i switched nothing out (no prop, mc, etc) just made sure i bled the brakes really well and i have had no problems.. while it worked for me i dont know if it will for you seeing as yours is non abs model

although make sure you test them when your done before you actually have to use them

Things should bolt on. One of the few differences will be the rear Hub/Bearing Assembly, which will have the Tone Ring ridges along the base of the Assembly (and are heavier). You may want to remove the sensor if it's still attached. I am not 100% sure as to whether ABS vs non-ABS Spindles are the same diameter and shaft length or not.

The Caliper Mudguards (Dust Shields) will also have a little cutout for the sensor assembly.

Other than that, I'm not aware of any other differences (between ABS/non-ABS). The Calipers, Pads, and Rotors are mechanically identical. You'll need the Pkg Brake Cables and Rear Brake Hoses from a 99-00 SI...

Let us know... GL
