my del sol leaks a lil when it rains. especially when i turn hard . the water drips from both sun visors on to the doors , i took them off but cant see how it gets in. the rubber on the roof looks fine and isnt ripped at all. anyone else have this problem ?

 

It is the seal on the. Almost everyone i know with a del sol has this prob. including myself. There is alot of good info on here about fixing it. Just do a search on it.

 

It's common on all del sols made before 1995. You can either get the improved 95-97 roof seals or you can try rubbing some dyelectric or silicone grease on the your old seals to recondition them. Hopefully they will swell a little and make a water tight fit.

 

pre 95 weather stripping sucks. get any targa top weather stripping off a 95-97. it should stop.

I have a 95 sol and have the same proplem, only from the drivers side tho, but not allways it depends mostly on how hard it rains and if its blowing from a particular direction.

This all happened after my paint project, I belive its when I removed the seal to paint the car and after doing that I never got it back on in the same way or being that it was 10 yrs old couldent take the abuse.

When I get some cash saved up I plan on replacing that seal and will let you know the results.

 

ok , i guess ill try the grease first. id imagine the dealer is only place to get new seal and its prob alot of $$.

 

yes it is very expensive from the dealer. but oem is better and in the long run it should pay for itself. unless you wanna leave it alone and expletive up your seats and carpet

 

Its like $100 some bucks less then $200 I know, well thats my cost for working at a shop otherwise majestic honda sells its for pretty cheap online.

As for the carpet you have to remember the Sols stock carpet sucks ***, you know that stuff that comes on speaker boxes? thats about the exact same **** as the car came with factory, no padding at all so.

This summer theres a place I forget off the top of my head im getting some new stuff from someone on here recomended for pretty cheap.
