Default Help me to identify this compressor wheel (pic inside)

I got a strange turbo charger. The owner told me the compressor wheel should be a GT35R (or GT40). I never have seen the GT wheels personally, so i don't can't judge.

Maybe you can help me identifying the compressor wheel? Here's the picture ...

The major diameter is 84mm or 3.3",
the inducer diameter is (around) 57mm or 2.24",
and the height of the compressor wheel is (around) 31mm or 1.22".

From the parameters i would say it's 46 Trim. A internet search told me that it could be a T04 57 Trim.
But what me still keeps me unsure is the height of the wheel. I compared it a 57 Trim Wheel which was laying around and it just has (around) 22mm or 0.86".

So, does anyone know what this is? Is hot or a flop?

If your measurements for that wheel are correct then it is a 46 trim turbo. So I dont know why you would think it would be a 57 trim turbo. AFAIK the GT35R/GT40 compressor wheel is 3.227" (82mm) exd, and 2.416" (61.4mm) ind. But that makes it a 56 trim wheel. You might want to double check the ind and exd diameters.

EDIT: just for reference a T04E 57 trim should have a 2.950" exd, and 2.230". However trim is just the ratio of exd to ind diameters. Trim alone doesn't tell us the exd and ind diameters, it just tells us the exd/ind ratio.

yea, combine that with the small spacing between primary and secondary blades and i can tell its a 04b... hope you didnt pay much for that because you got ripped off

You calculations are correct. I posted the formulas below a while back.

formula for determining trim
Compressor
[(minor wheel diameter)x(minor wheel diameter) / (major wheel diameter)x (major wheel diameter) ] x 100= trim

your compressor
[(2.24)(2.24)/(3.3)(3.3)] x 100= trim
(5.0176/10.89) x 100= trim
.4608 x 100 = trim
46= trim

exhaust
[(major wheel diameter) x (major wheel diameter)/ [(minor wheel diameter) x (minor wheel diameter)] x 100= trim

I searched through my old catalogs and the only compressor I found with a 3.3" exducer is the turbonetics TS04 but it has a 2.3" inducer. The exducer for the T04B based compressor wheels are 2.75" and 3.00".

Thank you for all your answeres.

The (mis-)information, that this could be a 57 Trim i got from here: http://redlineracer.org/estore...id=71.

This is not my turbo and i don't have it here anymore, so i can't measure anything more or take other pictures. But anyway, i don't mind anymore - it's not a GT, it's not interresting for me.

Thank you!
