Wiring Harness Help
I am going to do the little trick on my '98 LX so that my dome light will work again. I know you have to connect the 10 and 16 plugs on the green wiring harness to do it. My question is what is the easiest way to do this? Do they sell plugs that will crimp onto a wire that I can then just plug into the harness? Am I going to have to tap into the wires prior to the harness and connect them that way? Whats the easiest way to do this? Thanks in advance.
just simply connect the light green with red stripe to the light green with black stripe and you are all good....
also..this should really be in the audio/security forum....moderator please move it

yeah..to make it come on when I open up the door. Should I remove the wires from the harness to connect them, or connect them in the harness with a third wire running between the two of them?
its not that simple...on '96-'98 Civics, the dome light (as well as the factory keyless entry) is controlled by the factory stereo deck. The deck actually has two wiring harness in the back of it. The white one is for audio, and the green one is for keyless entry/dome light. When you remove the deck, if you want to keep these two options, you need to by a double wiring harness (its Y shaped) and keep the factory deck installed, but burried inside the dash. I don't have factory keyless entry, so I didn't go this route. However, I want my domelight to work when I open my doors. Right now, it works, but only when I turn it completely to the "On" position. If I leave it in the middle, it does not work when I open up the doors. There is a trick to bypass the double harness, and still have the domelight work when you open the door. You need to connect the green wire w/ the red stripe and the green w/ the black stripe in the green harness. I need to know what would be the easiest way to do this. I don't want to cut the wires out of the harness, just in case I want to install the factory deck back in sometime down the road. I want to know whats the easiest way to do it, keeping the harness intact?
