Default would this ecu work?

i have an extra pg6 ecu from a 88 teg. im boosting my d16a6 and i plan on running turboedit. instead of chipping my pm6 can i run the pg6 chipped or will i have tuning problems, wouldnt i just be able to tune it to run right with the chip or will there be other problems? the reason for this is because i want to keep my orig pm6 virgin and plus i have to drive the car everyday and cant afford to mess up my ecu and not be able to drive.

do i sound like a total noob or would this be possible?

Go for it, it's possible, just you need to run that pg7 with lots of *** wiring to get it to work since there's no external eprom (if my memory serves me).
