yeah, it;s my first thread on this honda forum, but i was wondering if anyone on here could help me out in fixing a rust hole in the lower rocker panel on an 89 Civic 4dr. there's a huge hole there(about 2' or more) and i was wondering if anyone had the spare metal or rocker from another civic that they could spend me, will pay $$$$.

 

i used aluminium sheets to fix huge holes in mine worked like a charm + aluminium
doesnt rust use rivets to attach then grind the rivets down and bondo it all up nice smooth

 

u got any pix of ur body work??? i want to see the end result, kind of a bend i have to make to go along with the body lines...

 

You could get a cheap welder too, one that plugs into the basic wall socket (only good for sheet metal) and weld in some new steel. Get some clamps and clamp the new steel sheet down to the rocker panel where it is not rusted yet, use the clamp force to make the metal bend along the contour. Then cut out a square piece including the rust and weld that new piece in. Grind the metal, prime and paint. If it's low enough it will be under plastic anyway.

 

Have you tried looking in junkyards for rust free 4drs for panels..I mean there has to be some in GA..Not like up here where everything has rust,,

Is there such a thing as a "rust free panel" for an EF? I have heard myths...

I've never seen one up here but there has to be some down south..
