as for my opinion civic si > prelude probly, unfortunately. -.-; iono lighter weight +limited slip > whale +open diff. im just glad they didnt do double wishbone b/c that's the only plus i see for the prelude lol. yet i have no clue why ive just heard its better ^^

Does that say prelude vs. civic si ? NOOO, it doesnt. I was trying to just get an idea about where the prelude now stands performance wise against other honda and acura models. Because at the time the prelude came out it was the big boy on the block and i am trying to see how far technology has actually come in the last few years. The H22 has been around for about 10 years old now so its technology is not "the latest". I am trying to see how these ivtec's pair up performance wise to the H22. Because geting more hp out of less liters is definetly a step in the right direction, regardless of the torque advantage the H22 still has. Is there something wrong with looking at how far honda has come the last several years regarding motor technology? I think everyone out there loves to flame ppl when they are asking a serious and TECH related question. It wasnt a thread asking who would win a new civic si or lude?

Technology has gone pretty much no where.

The old 350 V8 placed in a Z06 gets 500HP, and mid 20's MPG.

Honda can't even make an engine with half the HP with the same mileage (S2000).

im sure they could if they wanted to. and you do know that the s2000 has the most horsepower out of any n/a production car. so if the s2000 had 7.0L like the Z06, techically it should be 840 hp. if the s2k was the 2.0L.

Im sure Honda could but probably feels like there is no reason they should. In japan isn't there a certain hp limit for production cars? They are also about make low emissions vehicles.

Its like saying Chevy can't even make a light weight, good handling small motor with high output car. It's not that they can't its that see no reason producing such a car.

Anyway....
I find it interesting that the new Si weighs in at almost 2900 pounds. Most people call the Prelude chubby, but a 4th gen is pretty much the same weight. (a 5th gen is about 150 pounds heavier than the new Si.)
Similar track width and frontal area, the Si's wheelbase is a little longer and it has an LSD.

So, as with all bench racing threads, the winner will be determined by the driver. Shumacher in a 10 year old volvo would probably crush your lap time in an M3 because none of us are as good as we think we are behind the wheel.

You know if you go to the apperance/cosmetic forum and if you post a thread about "(nationality) post your rides" thread you'll be get banned.

It should be the same with these "VS" threads because everone know if you have "NOS, two of them, tonight" you'll be able to smoke that SI................

just wow.. this thread has gone nowhere but down the crapper. it was a valid question/thread the title just wasn't worded the best. i've already read a couple threads about those few with a k20 swap in a lude and some say its great some not. its hard to say in my opinion. similar weight, horsepower, lude has a bit more peak torque but i dont know what actual dyno graphs would show since the civic has an ivtec. if the lude had an lsd(4th gen) or atts(5th) i guess theyd be pretty close. my 2cents
