Toda Exhaust Manifold for 05 RSX-S
Hi Honda-Tech--
Woo hoo, my first post to HT. I'm an avid ClubRSX poster and finally decided to soak in the mindshare elsewhere
-- Apologies in advance if I just broke a forum law and posted a question to one that's been answered many times over
I just discovered recently that it's possible to run the Toda Exhaust Manifold with our stock catalytic converters -- this is great news to me as I've been in search of a good manifold upgrade that'll keep me in my autocross class (SCCA STS) and cats are required. Until the news broke, I was stuck with trying to budget $2k for the Mugen Exhaust Mani kit that comes with it's own cat. InlineFour.com informed me of being able to run the Toda with the stock cat and that the Toda mani makes more power (dynoed) than the Mugen. It's also MSRP at $1200 which I love, and wonder if the price would be even cheaper as the Toda site says it includes a special front sway bar. (I'm also wondering if my Hotchkis 25mm front will fit over the Toda, but first-things-first
).
Does anyone currently run the Toda + Stock Cat setup? How do they like it? Dynoed? I'm looking for mainly mid-range increases here and will likely be pairing up the mainfold up with the 05 Hondata Reflash soon for added benefits.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Paul

Wow this is quite the good news !! I didnt know that you could use the stock cat with the Toda Race Header. I dont think that you can use it with the 05 Reflash though due to issues of running lean. If you decide to run this route please let me know how it goes, i was planning on just running the stock manifold or a short manifold with the flash.
It turns out through more research that the Toda RH can only be used with the stock cat if you're willing to cut off its section and bolt up your own cat. I'm not willing to go through the hassle of doing so, and will be in search of a bolt-on solution. Who'd want to slice of a piece of a $1200 header anyway; are there significant benefits achieved over a bolt-on? Dunno.
