Default port and polish y8

This is my first attempt at a port injected system. I was wondering how much I should take off of the head where the injectors are. There is a considerable amount that can be removed using an intake manifold gasket as a template. If I take it all away will it mess up the way the fuel is atomized?

Yes you can take off to much and mess things up, i would suggest trying to get/find some templates to help guide you or find someone who has done it before to help you.

The best way to port and polish is with a flow bench. The rough surface of the IM and head where the fuel hits will actually help the fuel atomize. You don't have to actually have to port and polish every part of the head or IM, just the restrictive areas. It's kind of an art form. It's trial and error and if you don't have a flow bench you wont know your result. If it were just removing metal and polishing as you go you coud just buy a dremel and make your self a small fortune doing head port work.
