anyone do an interior conversion
from tan leather--->black leather
or vise versa, or any other conversion. i have an SE with tan leather, the seats carpet doorpanels are all crap. the seats are ripped, and the doorpanels anf carpet are dirty as hell. so i decided to/am going to buy a complete black leather conversion. how difficult is it, and what did you have the dardest time with? i figured it would be fairly easy, a couple of bolts here and there...

i've given up on finding the seats...junk yards want way to much for them if they are in good shape. If i find one local i am going to see if they will let me swap the panels and roof liner etc....even if its for a small fee
as far as the seats you'd be better off getting a kit from leatherseats.com or ayarinc.com but even then it's expensive.
I removed my back seats and did a custom carpet partly for the weight and partly so i could fit my snowboard in the lude. I can't find anyone to sell just the front seats kit so it's not worth it to me to pay for all four. I'll probably wait til i can afford some corbeau seats or something like that
but as far as how easy it is to install....not much to it....your right a bolt here and there and a lot of it just snaps in and out of place

I have the leather option on my 94 vtec,
it's about 90 to 95% good condition because the driver side is beginning to show some wear, no rips thought. I'm also looking to replace it but they are hard as hell to find and when I find one is usually in way worst condtion than mine, so I'm a having a shop make it look 100% again, but I think the 2 tone in the SE is so freaking nice also

yeah it gets pretty hot in here in jersey for about two months during the summer and the leather seats get really hot, so you must use a windshield shade to keep car cooler inside, it's a must have. But if you have good a/c it's ok I'd say after 5 minutes from driving away. I wouldn't change a thing about my interior because of weather

Everything should pretty much be straight forward then, It just snaps theres a few screws and snap pins and such u have to find that will probably give you some trouble cause youll miss one and try to take the thing off and it will be stuck. As long as you take your time about it and becareful though you should do just fine. some things like the panels under the rear quarter windows feel like there going to break when u unsnap them theres also 2 screws holding them down on each one. dont yank but play with it a bit and it will sound or feel like something broke to someone who has never dealt with interior panels and such but it should be fine. basically goes for the door skins too its easier if u have a snap pin screw driver cause u can shove that in there close to the pin and pop it out easier. It looks like a giant chisel kinda with a bent arm and a V or a U cut in it to go under the pin and pull up.
then just resnap the new stuff in. expensive project.

how much do you have to spend? getting new leather seats or recovering will be your hardest part....if you can afford it i would look into putting in some s2k seats....they usually go for about 600 on the s2k boards
it shouldnt be too hard for you to get rid of all that leather....as long as the trade was worth it...you ought to try to find someone who wants tan and then just trade them staight up....if your carpet was clean i would trade you, the doorpanels and seats can be taken care of, but the carpet is a deterrent for me....
tan cloth > black.
Like everyone else said, it shouldnt be too hard to switch everything, everything is held in with those f'in clips and a few screws here and there. Just be careful when you pull. IF it doesnt come with the first few tugs check to make sure everything is loose.
Good luck with it man.
