si cam in dx

Default si cam in dx

when i put the si cam into my dx, do i still run the same vavle lash clearance?
and also when puttin in the cam, is it possible to set the mark at tdc slide the belt off when reinstalling slide the belt back on, tighten the tensioner, and have timing unaffected? tia

yes, the lash clearance is the same, get a manual, it will tell you the clearance.

yes, you can set at tdc, loosen the tensioner, slip the belt off, swap the cams, set the cam at tdc, slip the belt back on, tighten the tensioner.

one thing thou, the stock SI cam gear has a different number of teeth than the stock DX cam gear. i cant remember if youre supposed to switch to the SI timing belt or use the DX cam gear with the SI cam. hth

Yes it is possible but it doesnt always work out i recomend making sure everything is line back up

I would guess use the Dx cam gear on the Si cam. Or you could use the Si crank gear on the Dx engine. Other wise the cam would get progressivly out of tune then the piston would hit a valve.
