nice.i bought the smaller HF press with the intentions of doing front wheel bearings.

i got one, pretty cheap too. i use it for all kinds of stuff. i replaced all my bushing on my old beat to hell ef. be careful, I was pressing out a bearing I think and had a ton of pressure on it and it pop out and the knuckle almost broke my arm.

i didn't get the one pictured-i got the smaller one HF sells.it's around 30" tall i'd say.
when i tried to fit Integra spindles in there to press apart the hub, there was just no way i could get everything aligned so it would actually work.

Ah, I didn't know they even sold a smaller one
I know a couple friends that have the 20 ton one and the bigger base does help, but on my 12 ton unit like the one pictured up there. I got all the wheel bearings out that I needed done.

My friend has one of those... works pretty good.. but,
throw those black chunks of 'made in tiwan' metal in the garbage, if you like your face.

yeah, until they blow apart!!! I'm sure if you asked around you'd hear some nice stories about press accidents.
If it was me, I'd use those as paper weights and just get a couple of huge cut off peices of 1018 or whatever from a metal supplier.
If you like to play with fire, than that's fine, but that's what I would do.
My dad is missing two fingers, so I dont expletive around with safety.

I agree, the metal can even be found a local metal scrap yard (not auto scrap yard) just tell them what you need and im sure they will find something for you!
