okay, ive only seen one or two in person, so i dont really know...im looking to get a white hatchback, through the years of 92-95...i want a white one, but i dont want an Si...what color is the interior? i heard it was blue, which would be horribly dissapointing to me...do any of the hatchbacks interior come in the graphite grey other than the Si...? any help would be appreciated...thanks guys!

 

The only way a white car other then an Si will have black or grey interior is if you put it in yourself. Every single cx,dx,or vx i have ever seen has blue interior.

Is there a type of dye that can be used to change the color of the dash from blue to black?

 

my 92 dx interior is black. comes with speaker grille on the back... all black.. grey seats..

 

theres this vinyl spray stuff that you can buy in spray cans. its easy to paint the whole thing. just do a good job the first time and it stays on for a long time.

 

i would never do this...i would rather scavenge junk yards for interior...or save my pennies and buy each interior part individually from honda...also, ive been looking in classifieds at civics, it seems that all white hatchbacks that i find have blue interior...seems you guys are right...i dont know, maybe ill just live with it...

 

Sorry eg6si, but I think you might be incorrect about a few things...

There are 3 distinct interiors for the 1992-1995 hatch.

Black
Grey
Blue

Black was available in every 1992-1995 Si hatchback.
Black also comes in the 1992-1995 REd CX and VX hatches. 1992 CX has vinyl seats and door inserts. How do I know this? I have a 1992 RED (now silver) hatch and have 3 friends all with various RED hatches - all have black interior.
Black also came in the Tahitian Green Pearl cars too CX, DX, VX, and of course Si.
Black came in others too, but I just wanted to point out that not all CX, VX, and DX had blue interior as stated above.

Blue? Only blue I've ever seen is in White hatches. That's all. Not even the dark or light blue hatches had blue interior. And really I *think* only the DX White hatches came with blue as well.

Grey? Every Phantom Grey hatch I've seen had the lighter Grey interior. Every Red DX I've seen had the lighter grey interior too.

I will try to come back and post every interior color and the corresponding car after I get to work - I can look them all up

As for the blue interior White hatches?

It's ALL blue. Dash, door panels, blue seats, carpet, rear plastic panels, etc. It's not horrible, but the black is still better IMO. It's not too hard to swap it all out for black.

I'll bet you're looking for a hatch and the blue interior is keeping you from buying one, right? Call 1-800-962-8922 and ask them how much a full black interior swap would be. That's Import Auto Salvage's number. Ask for Larry Jr. or Randy Joeb - tell them TOM sent you. Tom is me BTW

 

tom...your answers always help the most, thanks!...and yes, i want to get a hatch, and yes...the blue is keeping me away...the only two colors id consider are white or red...i just keep finding white hatchbacks with blue interior, its so discouraging...well, as soon as my insurance company cuts me a check, im going to start the serious hunting...ive only done mild browsing as of now...thanks for all your help guys...ill keep you all updated as of what car im going to get, and im sure you guys will be some of the first to see the car when i get it...

i bought a white dx with blue interior, then found a blue dx that was in an accident and stripped all the black interior off of it and put it in mine. It's sooooooo mcuh better. The blue is hurting.

 

keep us updated on your car search. .. i've always wondered how much a hatch would cost in CA. The prices I've seen are quite high.

 

well, if you dont care about high mileage like myself...i saw a 93 VX with about 100k, going for 3k or so...i see so many hatchbacks for sale, but almost all of them have been modified or are in very poor cond. right now i have my eye on a red 92 Si...high mileage, but then again, im just gonna swap the motor anyhow...i need something that will last at least 30k miles or so...trouble free.

 

does anyone know if power steering was an option in the VX hbs?

How expensive is it to fly out to Georgia? Sriously guys, I and about 6 other friends have all gotten good-bodied 1992 and 1993 CX, VX, and DX hatches for $2,000! One of my friends got a 1993 CX for $1,800 in perfect running order with like 102,000 miles and PERFECT body - Phantom grey on light grey interior.

They are very hard to find here too, but there are odiots here who sell good ones for $2,000-$2,500 if you look hard enough.

 

honestly, i could fly out to georgia for free...not even an issue...im getting so discouraged because every hatch i find in decent condition has been sold already...i get at least three emails a day from ones i sent requesting info... well, if when the time comes...i still cant find a hatchback...looks like ill be heading out to the "peach state", or whatever you guys call it...

 

i got a black one with Grey . Most of the black ones come in Grey . my bro has a 92 black i have a 94 black hb and we booth are grey but if u want white the best thing is to try to exchange with someoen with grey or paint your black car with grey in. white.

 

i know this place where he sells salvage cars hb for cheap it's fixable ..... but it's good around 1200 -2000 you'll get sometimes if your llucky u get extra's ....

 

Okay, I might have gotten confused by your post, but it seems like you are saying that black hatches come with Grey interior, right?

Not true. In fact, the only hatch that came in black, Granada Black Pearl to be exact, would be an Si model ONLY.

All Si hatches had the black interior, so therefore no black hatches (Si only, remember?) came with grey interior - black only.

Are you confusing the very dark grey exterior color (Phantom Grey) with black? They aren't the same color.

If you mean Phantom Grey, then yes all of those had the light grey interior.

for this ammt. of money, i can get a perfectly good running vehicle for about 1k more, why would i want a trashed one...i know that youre trying to help, so thanks. to state the facts, as of now i dont have enough money to buy a car, swap the interior, swap the motor, and paint the car...im going to be hopefully buying an EG (EH) for the cheap price, and for the transportation to school and work. what i like about them is the low price, the ammount of parts for them, the ease of upgradability, and the looks. bottom line is im not going to throw 8-9k dollars into this car...i just want some good transportation, that eventually i can start fixing up...ie motor swap, upgraded brakes, etc. ive been buying new cars for the past 6 years...im tired of making payments...i want to OWN a car, and whatever i do to it, will be an improvement because of the age of the car.

 

so just for 100% clarification....no white HB's came with any other color interior cept blue?

 

White SI hatches had black interior, but all others had blue to my knowledge.
