Default axles and transmission

im having tranny problems, but no one can tell me whats wrong with it...its an automatic and it slams into 1st, park, and reverse really hard...one mechanic told me that my axles are leaking grease and that my be contributing to the problem... can axles lead to a messed up tranny? any advice would be great...thanks

It's definately not the axles' fault. It's not good to have leaking axles, but I can't see how it would cause that...

The axles could be loose for some reason, but then the car wouldn't go into gear at all.

Do your axles click when you turn?

Your tranny may just be fucked, or in need of a flush.

Yeah I dont think axles would make your tranny slam into gear. I would suggest a flush also, but not at this guys shop.
