Default B18A1 or B20b looking for general tech advise

All right guys go easy on me. I have never played with LS/VTEC swaps and was wondering if a B18A1 is better or that much worse than a B20b?

I have only done a few B16A swap never changing the bottom end out, since my current bottom end is burning oil (at a fast rate) I was thinking about building the B18A1 in my basement or is a B20b that much better I should start with that?

I am going to be putting this set up in my 91EF hatch daily driven about 65 miles a day to and from work.

Sorry if the question seems lame or redundant but I just want to make sure I get the best bang for my buck.

how sure are u that the short block is burning the oil. how many miles on the motor? its possible to be something to do with the top end? either way it will make more power, but if staying all motor id go with the b20, if FI is possibly in your future, id go with the b18a because of the thicker sleeve size.

Thanks for the input. As for my B16A bottom-end, I have no idea if it is the bottom end or the top. My logic was just build a new bottom end then take the head off have it gone threw, thus creating less down time since I have too drive some many miles a day.

Since I all ready have the B18A1 I might just stay with that, thicker side walls are a cool score too
