this is what i did
take a screw driver or whatever metal object and tap around the trunk and see which parts resonate thats the parts u will need to cover (the corners and welding lines are usually strong enuff without any dynamat) but if u got loud exhaust id probably MAT the backwall and then spray the trunk with rubber undercoating i sprayed mine and i fukin love it now i can hear my radio over exhaust now
also dont forget the trunk pannels they rattle too
also look into ur wheelwells if they re shipped or old and got no rubber undercoating on them , clean them good and spray some back on there to keep the road noise down

You could get that rubber coating at places that spray bedliners. Its the same thing.

iTS enough to do most of your trunk...I did an Integra at BBY using one door kit and got the major spots of the car.

dude, check out http://www.b-quiet.com/ for their stuff... it's just like, if not better than dynamat and it's a lot cheaper if you buy a lot... 16 squares should be enough... but it really depends on how much sound you want to deaden... on my accord, i used more than 50 equivalent squares and it may have still been not enough... invest in doing a good job... not just one that's "good enough"

trunk bedliner and ruberised underating is lil different, trunk bedlinerdries up more like paint and is less flexible than rubberised undercoating so i'd use rubber coating for the trunk

what i did to my car is have the backwall dynamated almost completely to quiet down the exhaust noise and put strips of dynamat on sides and internal pannels and after that i sprayed whole trunk with rubber coating so it looks one color and doesnt have all them dynamat patchez alova the trunk
but the coating really helped to bring the noise down

If you used 50 equivalent wedge pack squares, thats 200 square feet of sound deadening material you slapped onto your car. I would think thats more than enough. As a matter of fact, maybe the sound wasn't killed as much as you hoped because you added so much more weight and the motor worked harder as a result of it. Now your exhaust got louder due to more demand from the motor?
