Can I run a 4-1 header w/ factory Xmember in '90 REX w/SiR II B16
I am in need of a 4-1 header to run on my rex for my OBD 1 conversion since my buddy needs my OBD 0 header. I don't have the money for any traction bars yet so that is not an option at this time. I really just want to run a Type R style 4-1 header made by "Strupe" (<<~~spelling???) and I don't know how much cutting is needed of the front crossmember?? are there any 4-1s that fit better than others?? Does anybody have the strupe header on their REX???
i did ran the 4-1 on my b16a2 . i just banged the crossmember a little bit and place a few wachers between the frame of the car and the crossmember.
take the x-member off then install the header... mark where the x-member is hitting then take a 10lb slede to it
works almost every time

Sounds like this has been done quite a bit which is what I like to hear. How is the ground clearence with the 4-1???

Very very scary..Get some sort of skidplate..

its more driver than car with the clearence issues.
the trick with the shittay stock member is to cut two parallel lines on both sides of the crossmember (just a hair wider than the hdr) then have your way with mr. bfh.
please do not do the washer trick, this isnt a hood. all your doing with those nice peices of metal is making the bolt exert the same amount of force on a much smaller surface area...washers move.
