Custom Fuel Rail
ok my buddy's dad owns a machine shop...so my buddy came up with the idea of making some custom fuel rails instead of buying one....well i tryed to post the pics of it but it didn't work...to make a long story short it hold 3 times the fuel that an AEM fuel rail holds and we can make to fit any honda or any car i guess...plus we can sell them for like 50 to 75 bucks cheaper then AEM....i just thought i would throw the idea out there and see if any one was really interested in them....i will have the pics soon...and when i get the pics i would like to let every one know that if you have some ideas on how to make it better let me know...
Thanks

Does anyone think it is odd that a back-woods machine shop would have the equipment needed to anodize aluminum?

Im not interested or anything, I just wanted to say anodizing aluminum is extremely easy. I have seen guys do it in their home garage in 5 gallon buckets. Its not difficult at all.

It is. Theres a site I found searching through Google a while back that goes through step-by-step instructions on how to do it and I think the guy even sells DIY kits.

its cool. you dont have to have a company to want to sell stuff, and making thin gs to sell is against TOS w/out sponsorship...
so you should be like "how does this look"
instead of "plus we plan to sell them etc..."

we make allen wrenches, laser sight housings, hubble space telescope parts, surgical devices, pella window products, motorcycle parts, nano somethin or other microscope parts etc. we are NOT a backyard machine shop whatever the expletive that means. we use matsuras, citizens, haas lathes. this isnt ur grandpas garage with a drill and some sheetmetal. 7500 square feet of precision engineering and machining.
woot.

Sorry, I didn't mean to assume wrong. It's just when you said "my buddy's dad owns a shop", I just assumed it was a hole-in-the-wall shop. Most big shops are corporations not owned by a single private owner.
As a few others have stated anodizing is really a pretty easy process if you are just coloring a few parts. However hard anodizing is a bit more complex. Iam sure if you do enough searching on the web you can find lots of info on setting up a small anodizing setup. The basics that you would need are some sort of tank to hold the chemicals the size really depends on what your anodizing, lead plates or sheets, a good 12v battery charger, some solid aluminum heavy guage wire about the thickness of a coat hanger, battery die electric fluid and a large pot with the anodizing dye. By the way if you do enough searching you can usually find companys that will give you free samples of the dye
