Default High compression timing belt issues

First of all the motor is a 82 mm ls/vtec with fully built itr head with bc4 cams, two layer headgasket, omniman flat faced valves, 12.5 cr wiseco pistons, i beam rods, balanced crank. i just got the motor in and running and after about 145 miles into the break in, POP, it dies. I pop the hood to see my timing belt chilling not on the cam gears. a chunk of teeth are missing about three inches in lenght, the outside of the belt is still intact but just the teeth are ripped clean out. it was a brand new t belt on a totally new motor so my q is this, Is there a link between high comp and timing belt failure?? after it was all done i did a quick visual and some basic tests, the bottom end still spins freely and the cams still move so i have narrowed it down to a pressure problem between the motor and the t belt is this assumption correct or do i have a larger problem? any previous experience from anyone would be helpful at this time. thanks.

the belt could have been too loose or too tight.....

there are cars with a shitload more compression and stock belts and they do fine....

I have seen this a few times, either from an improperly torqued tensioner, belt to loose or to tight, or someone used a shitty aftermarket belt.

what brand t belt were you using?

it should be fine im just hopin i dont have to replace a piston, the valves no problem but the pistons better be fine. well what is the cr limit for a stock t belt does anyone have any experience with this?? ohh it was oem, and it wasn't loose but not to tight an inch of side play on exhst but should i do a diff spec for the cam+cr combo??

I think that your problem is related to the belt and how it was tensioned, not to the CR of the motor.
