Default What the hell brakes did I have!??!

Ok so here's the deal.

I bought a molested 90 crx si. I was doing the front brakes yesterday I went to autozone and got some duralast gold pads and rotors (can't complain i didn't expect to keep civic brakes too long anyways)

Now lemme tell you when i first got the car the brakes were great! The pedal was very touchy and it stopped awesome I just had warped rotors and the pads were low

So I get these pads and rotors for a 90 crx si and the pads don't fit! So I got some calipers/caliper brackets from some spare 91 cvici si hubs my buddy had in his garage and they were indeed different! I put the new pads and rotors on and holy crap do these brakes suck.. the rotors are great they don't shimmy at all but I have to stomp the **** out of the pedal to slow down from high speeds! BEfore my brakes would lock the tires no problem! These I couldn't lock the tires up.

So basically I want to know what other calipers fit a dx/si hub? The calipers and brackets were different the calipers from the civic si used a 12mm bolt to hold them in.. these other calipers used a 14mm bolt. The rotors were the same just the pads were different. I wan't to put these back on though! They are way better than the civic si calipers and 13s still fit over them!!

It would help if you would tell us what the stamping on the calipers is.

Or maybe you just didn't bleed the new calipers thoroughly.

BTW, CRX Si uses a different fromt caliper from the Civic Si.

I'll try to get the stamping info.. but I have the calipers at a buddy's house.

I ordered the pads for a 90 crx si and used 91 civic si calipers/brackets they were the same.

I don't think I had 90 crx si calipers. I bled the brakes very well, the pedal doesn't go down far at all, it's just very stiff. i have to push very hard to lock them up.
