K&N filters for ITR - amazon.com - $47 dollars SHIPPED
don't know if anyone is interested but i found a killer deal for K&N filters on amazon.com.
$47 dollar shipped. lowest price ever.
these usually go for $30 dollars more, plus shipping.
Happy shopping.
goto Amazon.com and look for part number E2427 (this is the ITR part number e-2427 without the hyphen)
it also works on other models...just goto k&N and lookup your part number and enter it on amazon without the hyphens.

I, personally, will not buy another K&N. Read the article at bobtheoilguy. Plus, tons of people complaining about MAF failure due to the oil coming off the filter, which K&N's answer left me even more unsure about their product. I'm sticking to good ol' paper filter.

Do you have a link? Because I honestly have never heard one bad thing about K&N. Not tryin to start an argument of anything, I'm just curious.

I just bought a replacement filter for my AEM cold air from this place..
http://www.4filters.com/
They are linked directly from K&Ns website. Anything over $35 is free shipping! I was able to get my replacement to my door for $36. What I do is look at what filters will fit on the K&N website and then take that part # over to the 4filters website for prices. Fast shipping to!
The filter that I used was the RU-4870, if that helps any.

The filter oil does not go into the intake if you properly maintain the filter and oil it accordingly. The bobtheoilguy link even points out that what you are describing is a "myth".

In the e-mail I received from K&N, I actually got contradictory information on this point. They claimed that the deposit on my test filter was oil (it isn't), and then they said oil does not leave the filter and damage mass air sensors. Honestly, you can't have it both ways. Either oil leaves the filter or it doesn't. Oil will damage a mass air sensor if it gets on the sensor wiring. This is highly documented by TSBs easily available online....
There is one other test that will be performed as soon as a suitable air meter is located. I need a stock 5.0 MAF meter donated '89-'93, or I need to purchase one cheap. K&N via e-mail has informed me that it is impossible to damage a MAF meter with oil. Their representative claims to have poured oil on a brand new one on their personal car, installed it and driven around. I want to see what happens for myself. I will happily douse a 5.0 MAF meter and go for a drive in my friend's '92 Mustang GT that I have been helping him maintain. We'll see. I'll be sure to scan the computer for codes before and after. Then the MAF meter will be removed, cleaned with electrical contact cleaner, and the experiment run again. According to the K&N rep, cleaning solves all the problems. Myself, I'm curious what will happen to an oil soaked MAF meter during the burn off cycle. I'm very disinclined to take their word for this based on the number of MAF TSBs at nhtsa.gov. I will however, conduct a test to verify the validity of the claim. Sounds like fun huh?
Take that for what you think it's worth. You can google plenty of cases of MAF sensor failure with K&N's. Just not worth the .005 HP gain for me. And nowhere does he say that this is a "myth." He simply says that he will conduct the test himself in the near future.

Notice the dates of the posts.
That deal was only good for a limited time.
There are cheaper ways to do it.
The only reason its so much is because of the extra plastic bits they have to add for it to fit the stock airbox. Its not that hard to chop up a paper filter and modify something like the 2820.
