Default what size vacuum canister for 52mm ITBs on a 2.0 f20c

i just recently picked up a 52mm TWM itb kit for my f20c. i know there is a mathematical equation that gives you the optimum sized vaccum canister for your application.

however, i'm mathematically challenged, so in your estimation, what would be the most suitable size vacuum canister for my application?

are those the new style ones so you wont have to T into every cylinder for the master cylinder?

I usually leak or T the four ports into each other but u can also buy the TWM attatchment for vacum log or there is the golden eagle mfg. I really liked the golden eagle one and noticed a diffrence in Idle. Check out my set up in All motor under " my daily driver, sort of"

can you elaborate on the "idling?"

was it better, smoother etc etc? also, the GE vacuum block looks a little small.

Hey Macrosshn, I actually found a pic of the one you asked me about. This was a canister that was made by John R, with the measurements being calculated by Stan the man from DV/DT Engineering. It looks really small, but this is what he came up with after making all of the calculations on the ITB's and the motor itself. Remember, this is for a Toda ITB set up, which is 43mm, but maybe it will give you some idea of where you're headed.

sorry for the crappy quality, it's a 100% crop

thanks rodrez, that picture helps a lot. i'm thinking my vacuum canister needs to be a little bigger than that because it's a 2.0 with a 52mm kit.

i'm thinking, maybe the same diameter but about 10 inches long.

Yeah definitely. The canister that came with my 45mm kit is almost double the size of Loi's. If you contact The Tea Father, maybe he can put you in touch with Stan and give him a run down of what your set up is, might be able to give you some help with the specs, if you have someone that can fab the canister.

mine was the size of a magnum marker, worked fine. don't need a gigantic one. plus im sure your gonna be using aem ems right? tuning off tps. but if your going off map, im assuming maybe a bigger cannister helps? dunno cuz mine was tuned off tps, disabled the map sensor.

map is in the pic but didn't use it
