Protection for OEM wheels?
I just got some OEM wheels for my 4th gen. The finish has started to come off on some of the wheels.. Is there a product I can use to prevent the finish from coming off any more and make them look better?

Thanks,
Del

Why on earth would you need to use high temp paint on car wheels...???
and to the original poster, what you could do is use a paint stripper to get all of the factory clear coat off of the wheels, which is what u see chipping, and then use a new clearcoat to protect the wheels.
another option would be to strip the clear, and then polish the wheels, if that is the look you want to go for.

the clear coat is what keeps the wheels shiny, if you strip it off and dont put anything over your wheels, they will look like crap in a day maybe less. they will become tarnished and you will have to continously polish them to keep them looking good.
It's funny when I bought my car only one front wheels lost all of its shine or clear coat and would look very dull compare to the other 3 and always gave the impression that the wheel was dirty and I hated that, I then when I bought one in near perfect cond, now that the newest of all 4 lol lol
. what I do to protect them is I use michellin brake dust repellent that keeps them from getting stuff on them, also don't let the guys at the car wash spray their stuff on them cause you don't know what the heck they're using, use you own non-abrasive wheel cleaner(expensive thought) I personaly use very diluted simple green and works great. One more thing don't spray anything on them when they are hot cause that's when they are more vulnerable to get mess up, so let them cool before cleaning them.

the car wash guys use a type of acid to remove the brake dust/grime.
to the OP, strip the clearcoat, and have them re-cleared. then make sure you don't use anything abrasive when cleaning them and they should stay nice looking for a while...

Can I re-clear them myself, possibly with aerosol spray clear?
