Default 94 honda accord sedan trany

I have a '94 Accord ex sedan, and it needs a new trany it has a 2.2l f22b1 engine in it and I was wondering if there was any other transmission I could put in it i don't care if it's manual or automatic, but it's automatic right now. I've been everywhere and I can't afford to get the origonal one that came with it, but I had someone tell me I might be able to put a one out of a prelude into mine, and i went to a local junk yard, and I can get a trany out of a prelude for about $200 if anyone knows wether I can use it or not please tell me. Thanks

Don't know about swapping auto trannies from Accords and Preludes but if you had a manual tranny you could use either and Accord tranny or a Prelude tranny. And it may be more than it's worth to you to swap everything to a manual tranny. It's probably going to be best for you to just stick with the same tranny. Go to Car-Part and search there. It's basically an online listing of junkyards and what they have.

Thanks for the input, but do you know any model specific prelude trany I could use? my friend said I should be able to use anywhere from 88-91, or can it be any manual prelude?

92+ Prelude H series and 90+ Accord F series. I'm not sure what motor came in the 88-91 Prelude.

But you could probably use any tranny that came from any H series or F series motor (excluding the S2000 motor of course). This is for manual trannies, I don't know if the same holds true for auto trannies.

$200 sounds pretty good really. But its gonna cost you a lot more to convert it to manual...

That's whack you can find a lude tranny for cheaper than an Accord? It should be the other way around. I personally use Olston's Import Salvage out of Lincoln, NE they have good warrantys and ship as well. Can't remember the number but look them up they're pretty decently priced.
