I lost 100lbs a few years back...
my tip for you is to have small meals every 2 hours. 2200 calorie program is good, with a high protein intake and a carb cut-off at 5pm. One day a week should be your cheat day, where you are allowed to eat one fatty meal. What this will do is get your body used to a fat intake..because gaurenteed that once you get off the diet, and you eat a couple of burgers, u'll gain like crazy, because your body will not know how to process fat into energy. Cardio is essential as well..and once you do start, go for 45-60mins a day, 5 days a week.

You've done amazing..congrats, just had a few tips to reach your goal quicker.

Good job bro! I need to lose a little weight myself... I am starting to work out again... I usually go Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday... I run/walk on the treadmill for about 30-40 minutes, and do around 50-75 push-ups, everytime.. I am also cutting down on what I eat, and am going to start eating mostly salads and such.. I am approximately 225-230lbs, and want to get down to 180-190.. Suggestions?

Good job man...take some advice from SpoonCivic. He sounds like on the money to me. I'd say start by eating less friend stuff and eat six small meals a day. If you want the most results for loosing weight start by doing 30 mins of cardio before you work out and gain muscles to replace the fat. Anyway, loosing 36 lbs is pretty amazing. I could only loose 19-20lbs lol. Just make sure you start working out to replace muscle with fat. You don't want ithe fat to come right back after you stop your "plan." Keep it up...peace

good job. but i have to make a couple of comments. first of all, eating 2 big meals a day is not beneficial to what youre goal is...eating less and more in quantity results in your body thinking that you are starving yourself essentially eating only twice a day..so it holds on to the fat in your body as energy reserves because it does not know when its gonna get fed again...eating smaller meals more frequently would get your body to let go of some of the fat reserves it is holding onto...and last meal should be at 5 pm so your body has adequate time to burn off the calories which were taken in. Also, it might be difficult, but stop eating things such as a "couple of slices of pizza." each slice has some 20 grams of fat(180 calories just from fat) and massive amounts of calories. Its the worst thing you can do to your body when trying to train it to lose fat. i once heard a good quote..."how can your body get rid of fat when you are shoving fat down your throat??" that is why now...that i have started working out again...i hardly ever see cheese, dairy products(besides skim milk) red meat, oils, etc. in my diet . my friend left a hamburger in my room last night, i was starving right now, was very tempting, but threw the meat/cheese in the trash and ate the rest. it is all about your willpower and doing what you have to do. keep up the good work.

Also, by adding more muscle, your body burns more calories even at rest.

Good job man. I should start planning a diet for myself too. Dunno if it's college life or what...but I've been eating mainly Del Taco and other fast food crap for 2-3weeks straight.

I don't get how the body "forgets" to process fat. Digestion is a fairly straight forward, mechanical process. Food comes in, the correct enzymes are secreted, food gets digested, the byproducts are thrown out and the nutrients absorbed into the blood stream. Unless there is some sort of disease or malfunction introduced into the system, I'm not sure how this could change.

the point that he was making is that the body becomes less efficient at converting fat cells into energy once the metabolism is not up to par...not that the body "Forgets" how to process fat. fat is taken in and digested either way, if youre working out and doing cardio or not, but when you have a healthy lifestyle, the body is much more efficient in converting that fat into energy...instead of storing it as energy reserves.
