I am going to weld my firewall back in place. I was wondering which welder should I rent http://www.abcrentalcenter.com...elder# does the welder need to have gas also or? I'm only going to use it prob. 1 time in my life anyone have one or know of a place in the DC, VA, MD area that rents welders?

The 130 amp model is enough

Also you need gas to do it cleanly.. if you use fluxcore it will need grinding and wont look as good.

Due to the nature of the material you wont need anything thicker so 130 amps is enough


and get a helmet

 

I've been calling around and so far I have found a 120amp mig welder flux but w/no gas

 

i'm in fiarfax,
where are you in fairfax? i have a 125 lincoln mig (gas shielding). might be able to help you out.
