Default Problem with removing axle from half shaft

Can anyone tell me how to remove th axle from the half shaft....i tried for like a half hour or so trying to get to come loose but no luck...and also in the second pic is a half shaft from a LS integ on the buttom and the half shaft that came of my car on top....can anyone tell me what half shaft this is off of? i was thinking of using the LS shaft so i know what axles to get.

thanks

Mike

The shaft that came with my friend's swap gave me hell..
We never did get it to come apart and ended up finding another.
[I think it was in an accident on that side..]

I tried using a "come-along" type winch and busted the cable..
I hooked it to a pole in the parking lot and tried jerking it with a forklift..
The pole moved, but the shaft/axle never came apart..

dude this happened to me. Its rusted in there. I got lucky and there was a axle rebuilder nearby.
First he put some grease(same as the CV boot grease) in/around the area where the axle goes in the halfshaft. He clamped the half shaft tight as **** with a big table top vise, then used a pointy hammer type thing and just started banging with a big hammer. FINALLY it came out.
When i put it all back in i sprayed alot of wd-40 in the halfshaft and then filled it up with the CV grease hah.
Man i got so pissed at that ****......

Actually that works for me too. But I have pried it with either a chisel or a thick flat tip screwdriver.

I believe pre-94 intermediate shafts came with the female input and 94+ came with the male end.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. But the female intermediate shaft is normally found on the 1st gen B16 and DA Tegs.
