90-91 doors are HEAVY!!!
I just took the doors off my 91 Si which I wrecked the other week and Man they are heavy! I'm thinking 75 to 100+ pounds, it was a real bitch carrying them across the complex parking lot to my garage(I need to get back to working out). Is it the side impact beams and seat belt supports which are heavy or is it just the combo of all that stuff and the windows? If it's just the supports then I'm thinking of putting in a roll cage and some harnesses.
well i dunno about you, but my 91 Si doesn't have side impact beams...the entire seat belt assembly weighs about 11 pounds....and that's all that's in there. i'm guessing the door itself weighs a ton
I gutted my doors. Basically, the side impact beam weights a lot. That makes up a large portion, I'm going to say 20lbs, but I 'm sure I'm off. After that the door skins and the seatbelt supports just add up to, like you said, 75 - 100lbs.
I used to changed my doors at the track and was about .25 sec faster.
