auto to stick conversion question
I have a D16Y7 with an auto tranny sitting in my garage. The D16Y8 block in my car is messed up. Is it possible for me to use the block from my Y7 with my manual tranny and head from my Y8 without any special mods? or is it straight bolt on?

you need the auto-manual mount and your options are Jdmshit.com (backorder till like jan)....hasport...about 175
(price went up from 140) .....OR you can pay 115 for the mount from swapshopracing.com......this site i found about after 2 hours of searching

i'm not actually converting my car from Auto to Stick...i just messed up my block and i was wondering if I could take my original manual transmission and my EX head and bolt it onto the DX block...because I just got my hands on a DX moter really cheap even though it was automatic..so basically the tranny from the DX motor is useless to me...i was wondering if the block was compatible with my EX manual engine..
yes, your fine. I run a y7 block, with a y8 head, mated to a 92 si tranny. All, in a 92 hatch
no problems bolting anything up, its a D
Although, according to one of my magazines this puts your compression ratio to 9.96 : 1 .... no biggie. I felt my setup like premium more then regular, no choice anymore, it'd rather run on 110 now
Good luck.
