Default can u mix match heads and blocks

i have a question my h22a motor has blown and i was wondering if i buy a h22a1 head can i mix match the two together or do u have to get the specific year of my block?????

yes! no problem at all actually the same head between the h22a and the h22a1

Yes thats one of the nice things about Hondas they tend to be very mix and match friendly.

umm...I think you have to make sure they're both OBD2. you may need to use your old distributor

Ummm.... I would hope if he or his installer is smart enough to put the head on they are also smart enough to know to use the old dizzy and existing parts and just switch the head. It doesnt matter if the head is obd1 or 2.
