I am selling my CRX HF and I am really thinking about buying an EF Sedan. Over the years they have really started to grow on me. Which model would you guys suggest I get? Or do they even have submodels? I want the one that has the most luxury options. Not to be used as a racer, just a nice daily driver.
What's the most I should pay for one that is in good cond? I know all about CRX's and a bit about hatches but i know NOTHING about the sedan models.
Any help from you sedan owners would be great! Also, did these cars come in both automatic and manual transmissions?

I would get EX for the ease of upgrading front brakes and motor swap. I would get the 90-91 EX if I was going to get a 4dr.
Yes they came in auto and manual.
You will be sorry for selling your CRX though.

Just like all hondas, the submodels are
DX
LX
EX
EX being the most 'luxorious'
not sure about what each trim level offers on the older hondas, but the EX has a sunroof.
and yes, they come in 5spd and auto.

Don't buy a sedan.
The price of a clean sedan is EASILY comparable to that of a clean hatch or a clean CRX.
You've got to remember that these sedans were usually bought as 'family' cars and are generally trashed more than the hatch or crx in which generally just one person would use it as a commuter car to and from work.

Well, I have 2 CRX's. The HF is the one I am selling.
The paint and body shop that was doing work on it totally screwed it up. The bodywork alone will cost more than the car is worth. it's a very very long story. My HF has over 400K miles on it. I just don't want to deal with it anymore. I still have my Si and that one is having the works done to it but in the meantime I want a good daily driver. I love CRX and hatches so the sedan would seem like a logical choice, especially since it offers more room for passengers.
So the EX is the one to look out for, eh??

EX's are pretty hard to find around these parts.
I hear they are more popular up north.
If you can find a reasonably priced EX, ****** it up.
You get d16a6, ultra cool interior upholstery, lots of cool options, and a sweet dual tip exhaust.
LX is your next best friend. CC, 5 speed, power windows, locks etc...can't go wrong.
Something to think about:
EX is only available as a 90/91 (auto seatbelts...kind of a PITA and add a lot of weight)
No 88/89 sedan had cruise control! I found this out the hard way...buying an '89 LX

I would think its the other way around. The four doors are generally in better shape since all the ricers havent got to them like they have with the hatches and rexes. Clean four doors are easier to find and they look better IMO. Four doors all the way!

What? You mean these things came in 4 door models? That would be nice! My wife is buggin the hell out of me to get a car with "more" space. She drives a Del Sol and I own 2 rexs so you can see my dilemma. I would get a hatch but those are more prone to theft(same with CRX's). The sedans are more of a cruiser car and thats what I want. They look really nice with a clean set of wheels and a simple drop. A sunroof would set it off too! I love the sunroof on my Si.
Any problems that I should look for? Do these models suffer from rust like the CRX's do on the wheel-wells?

You are dead wrong. Houston is a ricer's mecca!

here is something to think about guys
the 88 DX is just as light as a 90 CRX HF if not lighter by a couple of pounds
I have a 89 LX or was and I can say they are great cars and with the same or close enough swap as a hatch
the sedan ain't to far about a fender difference and I think this had to do with my bad lauch
but it all depends on ur ideas on the new car
RACE or Daily

I got a trade offer for a 90 Accord. You can see pics of it here http://www.houston-imports.com...57289
Worth it? Of course I have to test drive it. Incase you guys want to see how bad my HF looks here it is
http://www.houston-imports.com...57052
Any advice is appreciated.
For some reason the 90 Accord reminds me alot of the EF sedan. Maybe its the shape...

Yyyyeahh.....but.....my HF isn't anything special either. I had such high hopes for it too.
IF I were to keep my HF I'd want to go back to stock looks. The WW kit just turned into a nightmare. The body shop totally screwed me on the deal. And NO, they didn't offer to pay for the damage or anything. Just a big fucl( you and have a nice day

No mods whatsoever on this next purchase....well...atleast no serious race mods. The most would be suspension. I am lookin for comfort, luxury...heat, ac...you know. So far the Sedan and the Accord have caught my eyes.

WRONG, no standard sunroof

Well, the USDM cars from what I can tell did not even have a factory optional sunroof.
Some DEALERSHIPS installed sunroofs, but Honda didn't have an optional sunroof available (USDM) for the sedan.
