Default no keys for lugnuts????

my friend just bought a civic with some gsr blades on them. the seller said that he bought the car as is and didnt have the keys for the locks (lugnuts). he doesnt know what kind of lugs they are either. so what we did was we went to the store to get a lugnut thing to get it out, turns out its too big and just goes over the lock. the lock does have an indentation in it (not like the mcgards) but has a odd shape hole in the lock. we've tried sticking things it and turning it but no luck. anyone else have any ideas?

tighten the other lug nuts to 120 ft lbs, get a 12 point socket (cheap piece of **** one), non impact that doesnt quite fit over the locking lug, but almost does and attach a 3 inch extention(impact). position the socket square over the locking lug and tap the extension until the 12 point socket is over the locking lug, gently loosen the lug with a breaker bar without using jarring motions, just push on it until it breaks free and threads off... great...i just taught all the ******** on this board how to jack wheels.

Give us a photo. The key might be obtainable through Honda or McGard...

none of what i said requires air. you are using an impact extension because they are tougher. using my method can get almost any lock off. i had to take off a mcgard on my friends ls430, he had some HREs on there worth 10 grand...didn't even put a nick on em.

Or just get a craftsman socket and exchange it when done, I did that all the time when I worked at sears.

The professional method.

Get a craftsman socket just smaller then the lug, hammer it on, loosen lug, repeat for the other locking lugs.

Replace socket with new one from store, claim it failed under normal abuse.

End process used at my shop for yrs.

You try to see if a 3/8 extension will fit? or 1/2?

Just checking because the inner house shape is a square.

if the 3/8 or 1/2 fits in, then it should work... don't have to be a house shape.
