Default iabs = not good.

my boy has a 22 in his accord, when he got the motor it had no iab box, so today he gets the box, i do the vacumm and i do the wiring, the flaps open and close like they should, but still feels the same from when they were disconnected, lookin at the vacumm again i noticed i'm missing something but don't know if its crucial

its number 1, i don't know if that would matter, car pulls the same downlow as if the secondaries were always open.

Looks like a 90ish accord.
It's a $0.25 part looks like. Why not just go buy one?

Looks like a hose splice. What could it do? Seems strange though, honda doesn't usually splice hoses.????

Actually, I'm thinking that may be a valve but it's too dark for me to look at my H22A accord right now. I'll let you know.

Sorry, this is a little off topic.

Where did you find that diagram. I know you found it on SLHonda but what was it under? The reason I ask is because I'm looking to buy an H23 IM for my F22B1. The H23 IM has the IAB's as well and I'm looking for where to buy the black box and other components that control the IAB's incase where ever I buy the IM doesn't include them. I've been searching both SLHonda and HAP and can't seem to find a diagram that shows those parts so I can not only buy them if needed but so that I can also see how much they will cost. So if you could tell me under what heading you found that I would appreciate it.

Are you refering to IAB's or ABS?

If your asking about ABS, this isn't the right thread.

If your asking about IAB's into a 96 LX or DX. Then the answer is yes. You would need to either buy a F22A6 IM or a H23 IM. Both of those IM's have IAB's. Some modifications may be needed to mount it though. If you search, you find other threads discussing what needs to be done to mount them.

the little thing is a check vlave I believe. I think they are directional.

now that the iabs are hooked up do they work. look to see the position when the engine is off. when you turn the car on the should move. then let the car warm up.
when you rev the engine they should open at like 4500-4800 with a p13 ecu not sure when on others.

so do they work?

oh yeah just so you know the parts through honda are pretty expensive. the box is about 40 i think I have broken a couple. and the solenoid I think is over 140? just fyi

It's either a one-way vacuum check valve (allows vacuum to draw in one direction only or it's an item called a ported orifice (metered orifice) (allows vacuum to be applied slowly.
I think it's the second item listed

hmMM seems like it would cause something not to work, its a 96 lx using a obd1 jumper harness on a p13
