So imdrivng home from NY to MD and everything is goin smooth. About 4hrs into the trip my speedo starts go haywire, all over the place, then stops and just stays on zero.
Right after the speedo got to zero the tach started goin crazy, until it too stopped on zero. Then for about 3min the tach and speedo just sat at zero.
The it popped back to normal, didint happen the rest of the trip. The car was uneffected by the crazy needles (no bogging or anything, stayed the same as before they went haywire) so im guessing its cluster-related?
Any ideas?

how do you located a bad ground? Is it one of the like 5 or so ground wires located in the engine bay or do you mean the ground for the actual sensor that messed up (black wire).
Also what sensor should i check? VSS?

oh heres another weird symptom that may add to the bad ground theory:
sometimes when ill be driving, my apexi turbotimer, which read A/F will for from a normal reading of "14.1" to "---".
"---" is only supposed to come up when the o2 sensor is warming up. If i switch from a/f to o2 voltage, the o2 voltage is still reading the same voltage that would = "14.1" but the a/f is still reading "---".
I can usually make it come back by letting it coast and gear then applying throttle.
You think it is kicking to "---" cause of the bad ground?

There should be a few grounds, one like behind the dash, nearly impossible for me to tell you where to find that one, there is the ground off the main relay, then there is another ground behind the driver seat-- a bit further back behind the trunk release.
