Default 90 Civic STD...SOHC VTEC problems

I have a 90 Civic Hatch DX, with a D16Z6. I just replaced the headgasket on the motor a few days ago for I had to replace the motor with a new block. The car ran good for a couple days then began to run like ****. It will not rev over 3500rpm's now. What could the problem be?

It is throwing a 1. But I think the wiring might be messed up.

There was a problem with the fuel pump a few weeks ago. I put a used tank on it that had some buildup matter, and it clogged my pump. I replaced the pump the day I replaced my headgasket. Could that be a prob?
