AutoX
I live in the St Louis area and I plan to attend my first AutoX next weekend. Can anyone from the area give me some advice for my first time out? Actually anyone from anywhere can help if they want. Thanks
Well, there is usually novice instruction at the auto-x itself. There should be an instructor there that will take all the novices and "walk" the course with them. Walking the course means that you and the instructor will go out and physically walk the entire auto-x course so you you can get the course into your head. During this time the instructor will most likely answer all the questions you have. My advice to you is to call up and ask if they will have a special time where novices can go in and recieve instruction.
Drive as fast as you can but try not to hit the cones because that'll ruin your show car's paint.
The issue I see most newbies struggling with is the "slow in, fast out" concept. Going into a corner too fast and squealing the tires the whole way isn't the fastest way. Brake before turns.
