Transmission problems
In early november my car started to lock 5th gear (20% of the time), once it locks I can't get into any other gear no matter how hard I try to put it in gear.
Yesterday I was driving home from work and it wouldn't go into 5th (80% of the time). It went in once in 5th, couple of seconds later I was driving and suddenly my shifter just pop'ed out of 5th.
and now my 3rd gear is starting to grind (5% of the time) as well.
I have a gsr tranny /w act clutch in a 92eg.

Maybe a bent shift fork? Definitely sounds internal to the tranny, and it's going to need some work.
Popping out of gear alot of times has to do with the shift fork being bent, and the fact it won't always go into 5th leads me to think that maybe it's a result of the bent shift fork because it's no longer properly aligned.

Perhaps some worn syncro's.
And yes dealerships fixing your trans are going to cost you a lot, your better off getting a ussed trans and slavaging parts from it or swaping in the ussed one altoghter.

Doesn't really sound like a throwout bearing. It sounds more internal to the tranny. As nocturnaldragon said, you're better off sourcing out a transmission somewhere and buying a used one. Keep driving it though since it works for now, just be careful with it. I wouldn't run around banging gears.
