Ok. I checked out the instructions in the Archive and I understand everything in it but I don't understand why the 'demonstration' car has only 5 wires going to the passengers side mirror plug when my new mirror has 7 wires leading to the same plug. According to the instructions, I just compare the plugs. . . if there is an empty spot on the car plug that is filled in the donor plug, I am to move that pin over to the plug on the car. Thats great but if I do that, it appears as if I would have 2 wires left over (Orange w silver spots and black with silver spots, not like it matters much)

In this photo, on the mirror labeled 'R,' I have a wire above 'D' and also one above 'E.'
My question is Does anybody have any idea why I have 2 extra wires here?
The only thing I can think is that possibly it has a defrost option, but it isn't marked anywhere. The mirrors have the same paint so they probably aren't 2 different sets. Anybody encounter this? Hook me up!!

is the diagram for an ek or eg?... i have the mirrors also but i have the 2 extra wires as well.. im waitin till i have some more patience to wire it up.

the only timei have seen extra wires is on my eg when i had the uber rare power folding mirrors with defrosters built in. they were rare but i never hooked them up. good luck bro

 

Ok thats what I was thinking . . . now does anyone know how they are supposed to be hooked up? If anyone knows how this defroster operates that would help. I guess it will hook up to the defroster button?
