yup jdm b16a. Have it sleeved so you can boost it. While you have the block there it would be a great idea! Build the bottom end with forged **** and well throw it in and bost her! Good luck with the build, you got lucky for 170 beans. cheap as expletive

not to be a dick, but couldn't i get my money back from paypal and keep the block, because this is misadvertised? it's advertised as a b16a2 and it's def not.

EDIT:
geez i didn't know people would take me seriously. i got a freaking deal even if it is on a jdm block instead of the advertised b16a2.

ummmm I don't think so, why not just keep the block, you got it for dirt cheap build it and be done with it!

options

1. Bore
2. Power hone
3. Sleeves
4. Blockguard and hone
5. Hot Tank, Hone or bore and Blockguard.
-Shop in Albany, NY that does this for 85 dollars for Hot tanking and Honing!

so between 85 bucks for that and 60 bucks for a blockguard that's $315.00 for a reliable block. Sleeves will run a lot more. About $1,000 dollars after its all said and done for sleeves to be put in but makes your block virtually bulletproof. You can boost up to 40psi if you wanted to

forged bottom end for boosting purposes. 8:2:1 or 8:5:1 - $700.00

Turbo kit $1,200 - $1,500 depends

and if you don't have a vtec head already with some sort of ecu that will run about or around $500.00

so your total motor rebuild to handle some boost a SAFE way using a blockguard would be right around $3,000, granted you have some xtras. ie. wires, mounts, axles, shift linkages, tranny. if not than that could run around the $4,000 mark or higher.

if you pay attention. he has an em1 99 Civic SI....

99 si = obd2.... jdm block = obd1

obd2 wiring harness on obd1 block doesnt really work, but you could as long as you get an obd2 oil pump you should be ok

ooohhhh I'm so sorry, didn't really feel like paying any attention to what car he has.

so in that case, you're golden, price will be a lot less than, lookin around the $2,500 area for a boosted motor

lol. give or take, you need a new oil pump ( i can get you one) the obd2 crank anle sensor and trigger, etc

also you need to find a place to mount your knock sensor as there is no provision for it on that block

The OBD1 JDM B16A is just as good a 2000 B16A2, no biggie, if you need to run teh CFK Sensor for the oil pump then swap out the oil pump for OBD2, no biggie. About the only block that woul dbe different is a 92 UP B16A JDM block which had higher compression 10.4:1 compared to 10.2:1 for ALL USDM B16A and also 88-91 B16A

would there be any advantages in running the jdm block over a usdm block? it seems like a lot of work to run the jdm one, couldn't i just flip it for some cash and buy a usdm one and that would make things easier?

If you want to keep it legit the motor would have to be the same year or newer then your car. From the looks of your SN you have a 00 Si, so if you wanted to stay legal you'd have to get a 00 B16A3 (I think it's an A3). So even if it was a b16a2 like you the ad says it would have been the wrong year motor for your 00 Si. If you dont care about staying with the same year or newer block, then I say just use it.

yea i think so.
im putting an obd1 block and head in my si.... its taken an obd2 oil pump, relocating of sensors, etc. my car is emissions exempt so none of that **** really matters but its still a pain in the *** for the sake of a standalone ecu
